Having an organized and hospitable waiting room can give you more credibility with patients. Some practices designate official waiting room liaisons — which can be existing employees or new hires — to make sure there’s always someone available to do the following tasks:

  • Greet patients,
  • Help patients complete paperwork (update personal, contact, and insurance information),
  • Keep the waiting room organized (remove trash and arrange chairs and reading material),
  • Assist patients with tablets, kiosks, or other technology, if necessary,
  • Assist patients who have mobility issues or other disabilities, if necessary.
