Academy Pledges to Continue to Work for Changes in Health Care
In the face of the failure of the U.S. political system to address urgently needed health care reform, the AAFP points out that the U.S. health care crisis has not disappeared. The Academy has supported health care coverage for everyone for more than 20 years and believes that no American should delay or forgo needed care because of cost or lack of access.To that end, the AAFP will continue to work with legislators and the Obama administration to ensure:
• constructive health insurance reform for all Americans;
• changes in health care delivery that ensure high-quality, affordable, accessible care for our patients;
• physician payment and medical education reform that will rebuild our primary care physician workforce; and
• medical liability reform.
