Call for Editors
Work With the AAFP as an Associate Medical Editor for FP Essentials
FP Essentials is an editorially independent, peer-reviewed monograph series published monthly by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Designed to help practicing family physicians and other health care professionals earn CME and stay up-to-date, FP Essentials is based on a curriculum that complements the general content of the American Board of Family Medicine examination and is indexed in PubMed and MEDLINE.
Associate medical editors work alongside editorial board members and the editor-in-chief to perform the following duties:
- Work with the editorial team to select monograph topics
- Select proposals submitted in response to calls for authors
- Edit three monographs per year
- Write a foreword and quiz questions for each monograph
- Attend a yearly editorial team meeting
- Use ScholarOne manuscript submission system to manage communication with authors and other editors
Eligible candidates must be AAFP members with authorship and peer review experience. Medical editing experience for peer-reviewed publications is preferred. Stipend will be provided.
