The American Medical Association (AMA) accepts the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Prescribed credit as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM for the AMA Physician's Recognition Award (PRA). When applying for the AMA PRA, AAFP Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed credit, not as AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. AAFP Prescribed credit is also accepted by the American Academy of Physician Assistants, National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, American Nurses Credentialing Center, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board, and the American Association of Medical Assistants.
