Heather Leith leads AAFP’s legal, HR and administrative operations.
Heather Leith, JD, CAE, is senior vice president and general counsel at the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), a role she has held since joining the organization in 2013.
Leith leads the AAFP’s legal operations and oversees the divisions of administration and human resources.
Before joining the AAFP, she served as assistant general counsel at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. Earlier in her career, she was a law clerk to the Honorable Kathryn H. Vratil of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas and practiced as an associate at Debevoise and Plimpton in New York.
Leith earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in English from Grinnell College and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.
