Michelle Farrell Emerson leads AAFP’s marketing, events and communications strategy.
Michelle Farrell Emerson serves as senior vice president of marketing and communications at the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). In this role, she is responsible for leading the communications, conventions and events, digital experience and marketing divisions. Emerson brings over 20 years of experience in branding, product strategy and development, and marketing and communications.
Prior to joining the AAFP, Emerson was the chief marketing officer at BARBRI Global, a provider of technology-based education, curriculum and assessment, and test prep solutions for individuals in the legal profession. She has held senior positions at Ascend Learning, ATI Nursing Education and Sprint. Emerson also shares her talents and skills as chair of the board of directors for AZOMITE Mineral Products Inc. and as a board member for 3&2 Baseball Club of Kansas City.
Emerson earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising and public relations from Drake University and a master’s degree in advertising and integrated communications from Northwestern University.
