Planning for a Likely ‘Tripledemic’
AAFP President, Senior VP Tackle Influenza, RSV and COVID-19 in New Town Hall
Nov. 15, 2022, 8:55 a.m. News Staff — For nearly a month, health experts across the country have been warning that the United States could soon face a “tripledemic,” with increases in the incidence of influenza, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus all occurring at or around the same time this winter.
Last month, AAFP President Tochi Iroku-Malize, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., was invited to the White House to discuss how family physicians can prepare for this upcoming season. She recently sat down with AAFP Senior Vice President of Education, Inclusiveness and Physician Well-Being Margot Savoy, M.D., M.P.H., to talk about what she took away from the meeting at the White House and to highlight all the tools available to FPs to help prevent and treat these illnesses.
This 25-minute town hall video session is available on AAFP.org’s Current Hot Topics webpage, so be sure to check it out to help prepare your practice and your patients for a respiratory illness season that is already proving to be challenging.
