Patient Education

Patient education plays an integral role in motivating health-related behavior change and in enhancing a patient’s knowledge, attitude and skills to maintain or improve overall health. Family physicians should lead efforts to improve the health of the American public by providing patient education that is accurate, evidence-based, culturally sensitive, linguistically appropriate, health literacy informed, and inclusive.
