The ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education are included within the AAFP Credit System’s eligibility requirements. Therefore, CME providers are required to comply with them when applying for AAFP CME credit. The Standards continue to be a top area of non-compliance in AAFP audits, so we’ve developed this webcast to provide a high-level overview of the ACCME Standards and how to comply with them.

The AAFP Credit System has three different credit application pathway options—simple, advanced, or ALSO/BLSO—when applying for credit. This tutorial will cover how to apply using the simple pathway credit application.

It’s important to note that only the following CME activities can be submitted using the simple pathway credit application:

  • Single live event such as an annual conference (in person or online webinar).
  • Single knowledge self-assessment (KSA) activity.
  • Single self-study course (online or print).
  • Performance improvement activity.
  • Point of care activity

  • Single live activity in conjunction with KSA.
  • Series of online courses (online or print) such as a series of webcasts.
  • Journals and publications (online or print).
  • Blended learning activities.
