Connect, converse and collaborate with colleagues who share your experiences and interests.

The AAFP prioritizes community and connection for our members. Here’s how you can find your family within family medicine—colleagues and mentors with common areas of interest and a drive to turn discussion into action.

Member constituencies

Member constituencies include AAFP members from groups that are perceived to be underrepresented in leadership at the national and chapter levels and encounter challenges entering leadership through traditional pathways. Member constituencies are part of the AAFP commission on membership and member services. The constituencies include:

  • Women

  • Black, indigenous, people of color (BIPOC)

  • New physicians

  • International medical graduates (IMG)

  • LGBTQ+

Join your constituency's email discussion list, browse a directory of all members based on common interests, and more at AAFP Connect.

Member discussion forums

These groups are a great way to share news and ideas with your peers around the country, either in general member discussion or specific topics of interest.

NOTE: As a first-time visitor, you will be asked to affirm a Code of Conduct prior to community access.
