Employed Physician Member Interest Group

The Employed Physician Member Interest Group (MIG) serves as a resource for employed physicians by promoting discussion on issues relevant to physicians employed by physician groups or hospital systems.
Who can join this MIG
Participation is open to any AAFP member interested in or seeking to learn more about being an employed physician.
Employed Physician MIG objectives
- Provide support needed to make informed decisions that relate to employer relations, patient reviews, and navigating the employment setting.
- Serve as a resource for employed physicians by promoting discussion among members on issues relevant to physicians who are employed by physician groups or hospital systems.
- Assist the AAFP membership in recruitment and retention of Family Physicians who are employed by physician groups or hospital systems.
Long-term MIG goals
- Establish communication between members and fosters a sense of community for employed physicians
- Be a resource for physicians in an employed situation
- Contribute to educational content that directly affects employed physicians
- Provide opportunities for collaboration among members who are employed physicians
