FMIG Network Regional Coordinator/FMIG Network International Medical School Coordinator

It’s your chance to develop leadership skills and work with other student leaders to guide the national FMIG Network.

Applications for this position are reviewed by the AAFP Resident and Student Leadership Screening/Selection Committee and appointed by the AAFP Board of Directors. Applicants will be notified by October 30, 2026.

The FMIG Network seeks regional coordinators from U.S. MD and DO schools, as well as international medical schools. Coordinators will envelop leadership skills and work with other student leaders to guide the national FMIG Network.

The AAFP established the national FMIG Network to improve communication among FMIGs, share best practices and better connect FMIGs with AAFP support.

Important details

  • Application deadline: September 1, 2026

  • Term: January 1–December 31, 2027

  • Prerequisites: None (FMIG involvement preferred)

  • Funding: Travel covered according to AAFP Travel Policy; a per diem covers expenses to travel to and attend the meeting, including lodging and food

Position responsibilities

  • Identify and maintain communication with an FMIG leader at each medical school in the region

  • Serve as a resource person for the region in providing information about the resources available through the AAFP

  • Gather information about FMIG activities from medical schools in the region

  • Assist in developing and executing FMIG network activities and/or workshops at the FUTURE conference.

  • Participate in a monthly conference call with other regional coordinators, FMIG network national coordinator and AAFP staff

Candidates for this position are appointed by the AAFP Board of Directors at the recommendation of the AAFP Resident and Student Leadership Screening Committee.
