To check out the Academy's latest offering, make plans to join AAFP President Gary LeRoy, M.D., and Senior Vice President for Health of the Public, Science and Interprofessional Activities Julie Wood, M.D., M.P.H., from 7-8 CDT on March 25 for the first in a series of weekly Virtual Town Halls on COVID-19.
During these Town Hall meetings, LeRoy and Wood will highlight key information about the pandemic; update members on new COVID-19 resources available from the AAFP, CDC and other reliable sources; and inform members about the AAFP's latest advocacy efforts to ensure family physicians on the frontlines have the supplies and equipment they need to provide the best care for patients in the safest setting. At the same time, the online format will give Academy leaders an opportunity to hear directly from FPs across the country.
In addition, special guest Steven Waldren, M.D., vice president and chief medical informatics officer for the Academy, will join LeRoy and Wood for this week's Town Hall to discuss recent developments related to using telehealth to screen for, diagnose and manage COVID-19.
Members are invited to participate via the Academy's Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as on the AAFP's YouTube channel. The weekly events will be archived on the Academy's YouTube channel, and will also be available for viewing on the AAFP's website later.
