Student liaison to the Student National Medical Association

It’s your chance to represent family medicine students in national healthcare conversations.

The student in this position will bring the family medicine perspective to the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). This student leadership opportunity means you’ll contribute to conversations about attracting students of color to medical careers, serving underrepresented communities and assuring medical services are sensitive to culturally diverse populations

The AAFP Board of Directors approved the creation of a student liaison to SNMA in 2003. The SNMA is the nation’s oldest and largest organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color. SNMA activities are implemented by local chapters based at allopathic and osteopathic medical schools throughout the U.S.
