What do the AAFP women’s health CME courses cover?
AAFP women’s health CME courses help physicians better treat female health conditions of all kinds. From sexually transmitted diseases to urinary tract infections and racial inequalities in women’s health, understanding the unique approach to women’s health is vital for pregnant and non-pregnant patients alike.

How many CME credits do our women’s health CME courses offer?
The AAFP provides a wide range of women’s health education options with CME credits, from journal articles and women’s health courses to podcasts. Some of our popular women’s health CME and their credit amounts include:
- Women’s Health Edition 10 online CME course: Up to 24.75 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credits
- Family-Centered Pregnancy Care Edition 11 online CME course: Up to 20.75 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credits
- Family-Centered Pregnancy Care conference: TBD Live AAFP Prescribed credits
To maintain AAFP membership requirements, family physicians must report at least 150 credits of approved CME every three calendars. Please keep in mind that your state licensing board may require an additional amount of CME or more specific requirements as well.
Does the AAFP have any women’s health conferences or events?
Yes, the AAFP has women’s health conferences every year, many of which are a part of our Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics program. Our main 2026 maternity CME conferences will be held this fall.
