The lifesaving strategies you’ll learn at an ALSO® course can improve obstetric emergency outcomes. Your entire team can learn standardized approaches to improve patient safety at a time when:
- Pregnancy-related deaths have doubled in the United States since 2014.
- Areas with limited or no access to maternal care are called maternity care deserts. These regions affect 1 in 12 women across the US.
- High-risk pregnancies are on the rise due to increased cases of multiples, advanced age at pregnancy, and pregnant patients with chronic disease.
- More than 35% of US counties lack obstetric clinicians and birthing clinics.
Team-based, hands-on instruction and comprehensive prework prepare family medicine obstetric care teams to manage a wide range of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum complications.
