Why Choose Family Medicine Update CME?

FMU features the latest actionable insights about dozens of family medicine topics from expert speakers. It also includes current clinical guidelines about vaccine schedules, the USPSTF update and more.

While all AAFP CME courses are designed with the day-to-day needs of the family physician in mind, FMU is specifically intended to include practice improvements you can implement the day you next get back to your practice. Every presentation includes key, understandable takeaways.

Which FMU Format is right for you?

There are three FMU formats available to choose from:

    • Livestream: The full stream of the in-person conference. Join from wherever you want, with no travel required. Real-time interaction and feedback from faculty is also available.
    • Online and on demand: Recordings of the most recent FMU event that can be experienced at your own pace and on your own schedule. Includes bonus content added since the last event.

What should I expect from the FMU livestream?

The FMU livestream will be broadcast live Dec. 9-13. All sessions are presented live, and offer interactive Question and Answer sessions. Ask questions anytime via live chat.  Optional clinical procedure workshops are also available, just as they are at the conference.

Additionally, livestream videos are accessible for six months after the event. This makes the livestream a particularly convenient choice for those who need flexibility to step away during part of the event or if your work schedule can change quickly.

What are the benefits of the FMU online course?

The online FMU course is available as a suite of online videos.

    How much does FMU cost?

Early bird pricing for AAFP members for the FMU livestream is $1,395 through Nov. 28 and $1,495 after Nov. 28. New physicians in their first seven years of practice save an additional $50. AAFP member pricing for the FMU self-study course is $805.

Check each product page for student, resident, nonmember and other health care professional pricing.

How many CME credits can I get?

The FMU livestream is worth 30.75 AAFP Prescribed Credits. The online course, which features bonus content, is worth 41.5 credits.
