AAFP awards for allies of family medicine

Here’s how the AAFP recognizes exceptional efforts to move family medicine forward.

At the AAFP, we believe it’s important to recognize the outstanding contributions our members make every day to elevate family medicine. The following awards highlight exceptional efforts—including by people outside the organization—to advance the AAFP’s strategic objectives:

  1. Supporting and sustaining family medicine practices

  2. Reducing the administrative burden that detracts from patient care

  3. Equipping physicians, residents and students with clinical expertise to provide the highest-quality care

  4. Growing a diverse physician workforce

AAFP members and staff, as well as constituent chapters, can nominate people and organizations for these honors.

The AAFP Office of Governance tracks all awards given by the organization and maintains records of previous recipients, award citations and photographs of actual awards for reference.
