Exemplary Teaching Award for Medical Education
The Exemplary Teaching Award for Medical Education recognizes members who demonstrate outstanding teaching skills, such as innovative curriculum design and instructional methods.
Winners receive $2,000 to support their work.
Award details
AAFP members who are full- or part-time faculty, as well as members who volunteer to teach outside an academic setting, may be nominated for the Exemplary Teaching Award for Medical Education.
Nominees are evaluated based on:
Recognition for exemplary teaching skills and outstanding progression of abilities over several years by medical students, residents or peers.
Development and implementation of innovative curriculum, teaching models or programs in a variety of medical education spheres.
The award is not available to members who have previously won this award or the Thomas W. Johnson Award for Career Contributions to Family Medicine Education.
