House of Medicine: A Diverse Physician Workforce is Critical for the Future of Medicine
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, April 12, 2024
As organizations representing physicians, we are united in our commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within medical education and the health care profession. We firmly believe that a diverse and inclusive health care workforce is essential for improving patient outcomes and reducing health disparities. Medical schools play a pivotal role in shaping the future of health care. Attempts to restrict or eliminate initiatives within medical schools that create a more robust and diverse physician workforce only hinder progress towards a more inclusive health care system.
Together, we affirm our unwavering support for diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical schools and pledge to continue advocating for policies and practices that encourage a more diverse physician workforce and enhance the care of all patients.
